I connect with people, research and write. I tell stories and improve my skills, and I knock projects out of the park because I'm a perfectionist. WHERE I'VE BEEN
As a journalism student at Mizzou, I started working in a newsroom when I covered the sports beat at the Columbia Missourian. From there I joined the editorial team of the local specialized magazine publication, Vox, where I assigned stories, collaborated with photojournalists and copyedited stories to meet a weekly deadline. When I returned to Des Moines, I freelanced for various Meredith Corporation publications as a fact-checker, proofreader, writer and copy editor. I joined the Des Moines Register's special publications division where I wrote, copyedited and proofread, and I finally landed at a local company with a reputation for outstanding work in the travel and incentive industry. This is where my interest in sales strategy and marketing was forged, and after many years of learning B2B sales processes, I turned to freelancing. And that, friends, is how I came to own my own business.
